5 Disney Must Haves You May Not Have Thought Of

Disney Essentials Collage.png

One of my best friends and I just went to Disney World and yes, it is magical even as an “adult” (that seems so weird to me still)! I never visited as a kid, and being a HUGE Disney fan, I had to see it! Magic Kingdom and Epcot are the parks we chose, and I’m already thinking about going back (shoutout to Nancy for planning everything and being the source of some great tips). I definitely think Magic Kingdom is the best first park and The Haunted Mansion is a MUST. Soarin’ in Epcot was my favorite ride of them all, and if heights don’t bother you, it’s straight up magical!

I could talk Disney to you all day, but I don’t want to ramble on. So without further ado, here are my Disney must haves that could easily be overlooked, but will be a lifesaver!

Refillable Water Bottle- These are genius, because they take up almost no space, and have a key ring to attach to your bag. There are water fountains throughout the park, and all you have to do is ask for a cup of water (FL water hasn’t been my fav, so it depends how picky you are about water). Sure beats $6 for a bottle of water though! Plus, more money for the snacks.

Poncho- My friend Nancy lives in FL, so she knows how unpredictable the weather can be. It can (and will!) start raining with no notice whatsoever. You can buy a reusable poncho, and we even saw some ladies with these, so they could wear their ears (genius!), but we opted for these inexpensive ones, and they take up a minimal amount of space. SO worth it.

Plastic Bags- You can get fancy zippered pouches, but a Ziploc works just as well. This is ideal for your phone and or portable charger (really anything that you don’t want to get wet) when it rains or you tackle the water rides. Also great to keep an extra pair of socks in…because wet socks and shoes are the WORST.

Mask/Sunglass Keychain- This was such a lifesaver! I like to have one that has the clasps and the converter pieces so you can use it for sunglasses or a mask. They’re currently requiring masks indoors, so this was ideal for having my mask ready and not having to mess with it much.

Disney Gift Card- You can buy these ahead at big box stores like Costco to save a little money, and then link them in the Disney app to make paying easy. Then you don’t have to worry about using or linking a credit/bank card.

*Bonus* This isn’t something I did, because we didn’t go on water rides, but if you keep some flip flops in your bag, you can throw them on for water rides and then change back in to your sneakers or comfy shoes. Also, depends how much room you have.

I hope you have a MAGICAL time and great weather on your trip! If you have any Disney Musts, please share the love! Say hi to Mickey for me <3
